I am researching my KNOX family... CHARLES KNOX b.(? date) in Belfast, Ireland married MARGARET BLACK (b. in Ireland). Margaret may have come from a family that made cloth?? I believed they had eight children (all may have been born in Belfast)... one of which is my relation; EDWARD KNOX b. 1812 Ireland marr. Eliza Brown b. March 21, 1827 (may have been born in America... another brother was the famous hatter of New York...CHARLES KNOX b. 1818 Ireland marr. Hannah Maria Hylsop b. abt. 1820 (possibly in America).... The KNOX family came to America in 1828 and settled in New York (possibly Brooklyn). Any help in my research would be greatly appreciated.
