EDWARD KERNAN, born 1800 in Ireland. The family rumour is County Cavan, nothing confirmed. He was in the British Coast Guard, joined 1833, pensioned out 1860, died that year in Brighton, England. He joined the Coast Guard from the 5th Dragoons, but the PRO office said the records were lost. This last statement cannot be confirmed. The family lived in Kent, Sussex and Hampshire, England
