My grandfather was George Aiken and my Grandmother was originally a Hillis. They lived in Belfast, Northern Ireland until they mugrated to Australia about 1925-1927.
My grandmother was ellen Hillis and she originated from Paisley in Scotland. I think my granfather was Irish but may have lived in Newcastle-on-tyne before his marriage. He was a Sailor. Their children were Kathleen, Georgina, Harold, Margaret,agnes and Eva. If anyone has any information about them or any history about their sirnames, I would love to hear from you.
