I am 6th generation descendant of Matthew Jack, b Derry Ireland abt Dec 1954 - Feb 1755. Emigrated to frontier of Western PA in 1772 due to "troubles" caused by his resistance activities vs British. He is remembered still as a swashbuckling patriot of Rev War and Indian skirmishes in PA frontier. I am trying to resolve mystery of his parents and information aboit his early life in Ireland. Current information suggests father as Samuel Jack, b 1736 Tyrone Ireland, married 1st Martha Herron, 2d Mary Church, possibly at Magilligan Point County Tyrone. Samuel and Mary's children, including Matthew, born at Strabane or Ardstraw 1751-1755. Samuel Jack (and wife Mary Church Jack?) possibly emigrated to USA after 1772? Mary Churhc may have been born in PA and returned to Ireland in 1730's/40's where she met and married Samuel Jack? Obviously trying to determine the story of this wonderful family. Any help appreciated!!!
