"Frank" - Francis McGIVERN (parents unknown) was born in 1783 in , Co. Armagh, Ireland, and died in 1856 in Jackson Co., Iowa. "Frank" - Francis McGIVERN married Alice MACKIN (b. abt. 1800; d. before 1849). Alice MACKIN was the daughter of (male) MACKIN and (female) QUIGLEY.
"Frank" - Francis McGIVERN and Alice MACKIN had at least one child, a son named Peter McGIVERN.
Peter McGIVERN (1825-1881) married Margrette LARKIN (1826-1902), daughter of Felix LARKIN and (female) MURPHY. (Margrette LARKIN is known to have had brothers named Arthur LARKIN [descendents in Omaha, Nebraska] and Michael LARKIN [descendents in Australia]).
Widower "Frank" - Francis McGIVERN, along with his son, Peter McGIVERN, daughter-in-law, Margrette LARKIN, and infant grandson Francis McGIVERIN, emigrated to the States from Lower or Upper Creggan Parish, Co. Armagh, in late 1848 or early 1849. This branch of the family ultimately settled in Marengo, Iowa, Iowa.
Peter McGIVERN and Margrette LARKIN had the following nine children:

Alice (McGIVERN) COLEMAN (1852-1875)
Arthur Ambrose McGIVERIN (1854-1926)
Felix Hugh McGIVERN (1856-1925)

James Joseph McGIVERN/Brother Aloysius (Christian Brother) (1864-1938)
Thomas Patrick McGIVERN (1867-1959)
The following information was obtained from the Armagh Diocesan records for Lower Creggan Parish. It is possible, but by no means certain, that the following (i.e., Michael, Thomas, Robert, Pat, and Arthur) McGIVERNS were additional sons of the aforesaid "Frank"- Francis McGIVERN and Alice MACKIN:
Michael McGIVERN married Mary HUGHES and had the following known children: Cathy McGIVERN (b. 1846); Anne McGIVERN (b. 1849); Pat McGIVERN (b. 1855).
Thomas McGIVERN married Sally KELLY and had at least one child, a son named Thomas McGIVERN (b. 1845).
Robert McGIVERN married Anne QUIGLEY and had at least one child, a son named Frank McGIVERN (b. 1855).
Pat McGIVERN married Cathy QUINN and had at least one child, a son named Peter McGIVERN (b. 1846).
Arthur McGIVERN married Judy WARD and had at least two children, sons named Patrick McGIVERN (b. 1846) and Thomas McGIVERN (b. 1851).
Inasmuch as the McGIVERNS were from Lower or Upper Creggan Parish, Co. Armagh, I assume the MACKINS, QUIGLEYS, and LARKINS were also from there, or the surrounding area.
Any help anyone can provide me with regarding the foregoing families would be greatly appreciated.
