McCutcheons from County Down (Greyabbey?)
Looking for any information on the Irish ancestry of several families of McCutcheon's that immigrated to Canada about 1821. The following heads of families may have been siblings or cousins, but it appears they traveled together from Ireland to Canada.
Samuel McCutcheon (d. 1828 in Ontario) married Charlotte Letitia Morrison (probably in Ireland).
Hugh McCutcheon (d. Oct 10 1832 in Cleveland, Ohio) married with no children, name of wife unknown.
Eliza McCutcheon married to William Glover in Ontario.
Sarah McCutcheon (circa 1776-1861) - spinster
John McCutcheon (d. Oct 28 1827 in Ontario) married to Eleanor Johnston (in Ireland probably in Greyabbey)
Robert McCutcheon (d. May 1828 in Ontario) married to Margaret in Ireland.
Any information on the origins of these families, the number of generations in Ireland or their genealogical linkages to the Isle of Skye, would be much appreciated. My mother Edna McCutcheon was descended from the line of John.
