This is what I know. Richard O'Brien married Nancy Dennis in Ireland. They had several children, broke up and she went to Canada. He tried unsuccessfully to visit the children and was eventually lost at sea. She married a second time to a man with surname Christopher and her children assumed this name in Canada. Had at least one son James. I find him as James Christopher in the 1851 New Brunswick census. He would have been born around 1770s or 1780s, his parents maybe 20 years previous to that.
