My great grandfather, Richard Godsil, was a schoolmaster at Prescot Catholic School in Dublin, Ireland, in the 1850s. Family story says he was bludgeoned to death by an Orangeman. His relative Charles Godsil had an inn in San Francisco, where Richard's children, Joseph and Mary were sent, after his wife was institutionalized. Can anyone verify this story?
