I am looking for descendants of Mary Henry and John Maginnis of Downpatrick,Ireland. Mary was born June 30th 1810 and married John Aug. 7th 1830. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Moffet in the Episcopal(Church of England?) Church of Downpatrick. (I visited Downpatrick a few years ago, but was unable to locate that church if it still exists.) John died of typhoid fever on April 12, 1847 in Downpatrick. Mary started for the U.S.A. six weeks later with her children and they came to Chautauqua County, New York. Her children were Eliza, born July 27th 1831 in Downpatrick, Mary Ann, born Sept. 16th 1835 in Downpatrick, John, born Feb. 14th 1838 in Downpatrick, George, born July 17th 1840 in Downpatrick, Francis Albert, born July 30th 1844 in Downpatrick, and Joseph Henry, born April 12th 1847 in Downpatrick. Francis Albert Maginnis was my Great-Grandfather. He kept these records for his family. I am wondering if the name spelling "Maginnis" might have been altered at one time. I have also seen it printed "Magginnis." I would appreciate any available information.
