Would love to hear from anyone researching McKEOWN or CULLEN
surnames.
My g grandfather was William Bernard (sometimes Bernard
William)McKEOWN, son of William McKeown, a farmer and
Elizabeth Bridget CULLEN, born abour 1844 in Co Down.
I do not know the townland. Have tried every which way
to find out more info here in Australia but to no avail.
My Bernard would have left Ireland in the 1860s or so. He
went to Tonga in the Pacific Ocean where he was a Plantation
Manager.
