I'm looking for John Manning married to Mary Jones. They had at least one son, John Howard Manning born 13 Jun 1841 or 1843. I believe they are from Sligo but can't be sure. John Howard Manning came to U.S. about 1848/9. Don't know if he came with his parents or not. Old family stories say he came over by himself and slept on rooftops with snow on them. It's a hard story to swallow for a 5 or 7 years old boy, but I guess it's possible. There is a Mary Manning living in Sligo in 1858 who might be his mother if she stayed in Ireland. Does anyone know anything about her?
I have this line from when John Howard Manning came to the U.S. but can't trace them back to Ireland. It's been an impenetrable brick wall for me the last 30 years.
