I am searching for descendants of Robert Chambers(born 3/10/1918). Robert was born in Belfast to Samuel Alexander Chambers and Maria(later Marie)Chambers(nee Gillespie)they were married in St Annes church (30/12/1910)
Robert joined the Royal navy in the late thirties and served all through WW2. Robert married Roselyn Brown(born 23/5/1921) on 8/9/1941 at Ballysillan Presbyterian Church, Shankill Parish, Belfast. Roselyns' father was called David James Brown and her mother was called Edith Brown( nee Sharpe). Witnesses were Ritchie Morrison and Elsie May Brown.
The Chambers family all moved to Huddersfield about 1939/1940, with the exception of Samuel Alexander Chambers, he stayed in Belfast. It was thought that Roselyn and Robert had children, but since the death of the last sister (see query further down this page re:- Freddie Chambers) Ruby Iris there is no-one to verify the facts. Robert died by his own hand (4/2/1947) at 51, Baker St, Oakes in Huddersfield and is buried together with his mother (Maria) in the same (unmarked) grave in Salendine Nook Baptist Church Huddersfield.
