hi,surfers in antigua, leeward islands.i am seeking relatives or anyone who knew of Patrick Bindon Nanton, son of Robert Bindon and isabel Nanton of st.johns,antigua.Pat was a pilot in the RAF with the rank of pilot/officer and i joined the crew early in 1942 as their front gunner and after completing our training together at OTU harwell(uk)flew a a new wellington bomber to egypt.on arrival were posted to 38 torpedo bomber squadron, where i was assigned to another crew as a torpedo aircraft had no front turret.in november 1942,pat and the rest of the crew failed to return from an attack on enemy shipping in the agean sea,and he is listed on the memorial to those with no known grave,at alemain(egypt),as having died on 4th nov 1942 age 24.there is no record of the other crew members so presume they must have survived the fateful trip. Pat was not only my pilot, but a personal friend,a fine, brave man who came from his native land to enlist in the RAF and help us in our fight against the enemy.so,if you knew of him contact me so we can share memories of an old comrade Nobby,
