Looking for info on a Peter BURNS,b. 1822/23 wife Janet (Melville?) b. 1824/25 emigrated to USA c. 1853/54 from SCOTLAND.
Janet's mother was Jenett(sp) Melville, b. 1794.
They are both found on an 1860 US Federal Census for Cayuga County, NY with children: John, b. 1847; Janet, b.1848; William, b. 1851. Had at least 2 more children in USA - Thomas, b. 1854 in Penn. (my gg-grandfather) and Ann, b. 1855/56 in NY. Any information ontheir emigration and possible family connection in Scotland would be very much appreciated!!
