Are you related to these PORTERS? Alexander Porter, born apx. 1807 married Helen Angus, b. 15 Feb. 1807, at both Turriff and Monquhitter in 1832. We know that Helen was born in Monquhitter, so we might be able to assume that Alexander was born in Turriff.
They had ten children between the years 1833 and 1847, so I'm hoping there are relatives out there. The children were:

Helen Porter b. Monquhitter 1834
Alexander Porter " 1836
John Angus Porter " 1837
Margaret Ann Watt Porter b. Monquhitter 1841
Jean Angus Porter b. Monquhitter 1842
Mary Porter " " 1844
Elizabeth Porter " 1845
Thomas Mitchel Porter " 1847
