CRAIGIE, John b c1808 Perthshire, arrived Aust. 1831, went away, came back 1834 to Albany WESTERN AUSTRALIA. Publican,& managed property for a Mr. Symer. Married Margaret WALKER, daughter of John who arrived per India 1840 IN ADELAIDE.[John WALKER m. Elizabeth LAW in Scotland - did E. Law die in Scotland? no knowledge of her] CRAIGIE Mge. in Albany, 1842. Children Mary & Jane/Jean b. Albany, John born at sea[on way to South Aust.?] James and Margaret born South Australia. [Both James & John Craigie [Jnr] went to Queensland and died there] Would appreciate advice on John's parentage in Perthshire?. Margaret Walker's siblings, Helen [m. Donald CAMERON in S.A.] JAMES WALKER[have not found any info on him yet]Thomas [may have died in 1851] Margaret[Craigie]. Another sibling was Elizabeth WALKER who remained in Scotland, married Aberdeen John WATT/S. Known children James & Elizabeth WATT. Mgt. Craigie b 1851 Adelaide, married Charles PATTERSON, son of Charles from Scotland, who immigrated to South Australia abt. 1840's. Jane/Jean Craigie b. West. Aus. 1845 married Adelaide, John RUSSELL. John R was son of Robert RUSSELL and Janet McDONALD who m.1832, Stonehouse, Lanark. John's siblings, William, Robert, Janet RUSSELL.
Also on the INDIA was Mary Jamieson WALKER. She is mentioned in Helen WALKER's will as her daughter but Helen as unmarried on her mge. cert. May have been 7 years old on arrival in Adelaide.
