Hello, my name is Bill Cook and I am originally from Scotland
(from Carstairs Junction). I have just recently started doing
my family history. I have traced the Cooks (in Leadhills) back
to my g-g-grandfather William Cook born in Leadhills abt. 1802.
I have as his spouse, Jane McKee also born in Leadhills abt.
1804. I do not have any record of their marriage, but I have the
names of their children. Jane, chr. 07/01/1821, James, chr.26/04/1824
and George (my g-grandfather), chr. 25/05/1828. I am also looking for
Browns from the same area namely one Alexander Brown, born 16/03/1803
and any information on his family. I would hope that there is someone
out there in the Leadhills area who may be able to give me some infor-
mation on the Cook and Brown families in the Leadhills area. Here's
