I am looking for relatives o both of my grandparents sides. I think the clans would be MacDougall and Maclaine names of relatives I know of are as follows, Paton,Tainsh, Gardiner, Haughton,Davidson,Blair,Abraham, I can remember my Grandmother talking about a relative they called The Red MacDougall if that would ring a bell with anyone. I would like to find out more about the land where they came from. Both Grandparents and my father were born in or arounnd Alva, Clackmannanshire,Scotland and left from Glasgow in 1911 on a ship called the Furnessia ariving in New York on May 1, 1911. That is the only background I have about them. I know they were of Presbyterian faith as that is what they remained here in the U.S.A. They settles in the coal fields of eastern Pennsylvania. First in town called Lansford and later moved into a home in Summit Hill 1 mile up the mountain from Lansford. Coal was first discovered in Summit Hill in the 1700's and was a prosperous mining area until the late 1950,s. I am hoping for a relative of some kind to read this and help me with my family ties. Thank You, SANDRA
