I am looking for any information on my MORGAN family. According to my "family History" my GGG grandfather David Morgan was born in Ammonford, Carmathenshire, South Wales (don't laugh, I'm not very good at Welsh geography!)August 9, 1830. His parents were William Morgan (born Nov 22, 1807) and Margaret Jones (also known as "Peggy Pantybryn"). William Morgan was a stone mason along with his brothers, Morgan Morgan and Joseph Morgan. Morgan Morgan was the original contractor of the Llandilo Bridge, which was completed in 1848.
David Morgan (son of William) had several brothers and sisters: Margaret Morgan; lived in Maespannwr and was a butter merchant.
Hannah Morgan: born April 5, 1838, married ? Harries. Had son, Gomer Harries who had a boot shop in Brynamman.
Sarah Morgan: born July 20, 1847, married William Rees, children are: John Rees, Margaret Rees, Mary anne Rees and William Rees.
Herbert Morgan: born March 3, 1840
Joseph Morgan: emmigrated to U.S. settled in Missouri
John Morgan: born July 5, 1832
Mary Morgan: born August 10, 1842, married ? Richards had two sons, William Richards- had a pastorate at Clydach Wales and Morgan Richards - a Welsh tenor singer and minister at Holyhead Wales.
All of this information has been handed down through the family and not really documented. If anyone has any information on ANY of the above relatives, please contact me. Thanks!
