Hello my name is Selina Bain,my maiden name was Ellwand.I was wondering whether anyone could shed some light on my search for lost family members.I am trying to trace my fathers brothers and sisters.They were last seen together at St. Mary's Orphonage Spennymore in County Durham,Which was run by the sisters of Charity. My father's sisters names are Joan, Maureen,Ester,and Kathleen his brothers names are Lawrance, Brian and Gerald.Brian was the youngest brother and was adopted so was Maureen.There mothers name was Kathleen Ellwand, her maiden name was Newgent.I believe the family home was 9, Ewehurst Road, Dipton Stanley,County Durham this is the address on my father's birth Certificate. His fathers name was Lawrance Ellwand I understand he may have worked in the colliery in Dipton Stanley County Durham but he does not know much more about him.My father was brought up by the Sisters of Charity at St Mary's Spennymore County Durham until he was twelve years old.He then went to St.teresa's near Birmingham until he was sixteen years of age.He was then put under a Welfare Officer in Southampton Hampshire until he was eighteen.
