Looking for any information re Great Grandparents,
Surnames: JAMES/NOBLE, and FOSTER/UNKNOWN - first names unknown, except possibly Esther Mary NOBLE. (have sampler worked by her completed 29 February 1835). Also have a piece of furniture of a Mary ALISON or alternative spelling, dated 1739 passed down eldest daughter to eldest daughter in the JAMES line. Grandparents were Thomas FOSTER and Sarah Ann JAMES. No nothing of the Foster line other than that Thomas FOSTER was said to be Irish of Dutch descent, and a Catholic who married out of the Church, possibly incurring the disapproval of his family. First of 4 children said to have been born 1901 in Peterborough. They were definitely resident in Wigan,Lancashire 38 Dicconson Street, from post 1901 to 1938/39, and my Grandmother 34 Eccelston Street, from 1939 to abt 1956/7. A brother of Sarah, Joseph JAMES, also resident in Wigan, 27 Dicconson Street, during the 1900 to 1931 at least. Any information at all will be much appreciated. Please post on Board or e-mail me direct at tjhurly@mweb.co.za Many thanks.
