OWREY/OURY
Immigrated between 1817-19 from Donaghadee, Co. Down (I think)
WILLIAM OWREY (b.ab't 1770) and wife Jane Hancock (b. ab't 1776) with children: Jane, Eliza (b. ab't 1800), Archibald (b. ab't 1806), Mary (b. ab't 1809), and James (b. ab't 1815).
William had a brother, James (b. bet.1775 & 78) who immigrated about 1800 for the USA. There was possibly a sister named Sara who married Mark McCracken, they also immigrated to the USA about 1800. The spelling of the surname is possibly different in Ireland. Would like information on this family and possibly what their roots were. |
