I have a little problem that has been in my mind for a lon time now and I want to get to the bottom of it. In August/September 2001 I spoke to a girl, called Lucy Alana Walker (aka 'Elle') on the internet through email, we are both fans of the Manic Street Preachers, a band who I run a website about and she had contacted me through that. I live in Leeds and she lives in Doncaster so we are fairly local, which is another reason why she got in touch. Anyway, we got very friendly and she described how she was quite lonley and didnt have many friends at her Uni (supposedly Sheffield), she also told me she was a recovering anorexic.
We emailed pretty much every day and when she stopped I didnt think anything of it, then she got back to me and said she'd been nervous about a new part time job with BT she was starting and hadn't been eatng right, she'd fainted and been in hospital for a few days. Things were normal for a few days and when I was away in London on the 2nd September 2001 I got my final message from her, an email sent to my phone -

I've never heard from her again.
It seems very odd to me, we were on great terms and I seemed to be one of the only people she had to talk to...I've been worried that something bad happened. This isn't some sort of romantic thing either Im wasting your time with, Im genuinley worried she may have got in serious trouble, or even be dead. I don't know any of her details at all really...I know her email address (that she doesn't respond to and Microsoft won't help me), she said she went to Sheffield Uni (I think) but they said no-one was on record there of that name (but she was thinking of leaving), she lived in Doncaster. I did have a photo too, she was very skinny (obviously) and had shoulder length dark hair but did dye it red at one time, green eyes and about 5'8' I think....this has been gnawing away for so long now I want to know what happened.
