Hello, I am researching the BARBOUR family ( among others) and have hit a blank wall. I'm trying to locate info on ROBERT BARBOUR born abt 1915 Dumbarton,Scotland. Parents are : Matthew Barbour and Jane Shirkie. Robert was one of six children. His Siblings are Jean, Elizabeth B 1900,William B 1906 ( My grandfather),Matthew b 1909 and Huigh B 1917. Robert was born in between Matthew and Hugh.
Robert married Grace Taylor late 1930's and then Helen McFall in the late 1940's . Helen died laate 1990's( So i am told, have no proff of this)
Robert and Helen have 2 girls Lynne born early 1950's who now has 2 children of her own and is divorced. She may stay in the Orkney Islands.
Other daughter is Anne where abouts unknown but may be going under the name Monica.
Rob, as he was known served in the army and travelled quite a bit with the army.
I know it may be a long shot but any help is appreciated.
Other (main) families in research are: Graham, Knox, McNaught and Watt
