I write this as the would be step-mother of my husbands son who was adopted in 1976 - Stuart Paul.
It must cross many minds, particularly adopted children, who are reading this notice board that birth families must by now have other familys and have forgotten about these children or have chosen not to think about them. I have to say in this house that Stuart is talked about as a member of the family - if you are in any doubt about how you will be accepted or welcomed please call Social Services or your adoption 'body' and ask for advice on how best to contact your birth parent/s. We wait in hope for a phone call or knock on the door. I know it will not be the same for all, but for us with our family around us - we are waiting & so must many others be. Please pluck up the courage - selfish as this may be on our part - many of us just want to know three things: That you are alive, that you are well & that life has treated you kindly.
