SHIRLEY FAMILY ! (APPLIN)
Hi! My name is Kim Shirley and I am searching for any links from my Father's family to other SHIRLEY families!
As a beginner, I do not have much information yet at all, but I was hoping that perhaps what I do have will mean something to someone else out there!
My Father's name is RICHARD JOHN SHIRLEY (21/09/1949). He was the youngest child born to RICHARD THOMAS LEWER SHIRLEY (01/01/1905) & DORIS MAY SHIRLEY (nee Applin - 16/10/1908 - daughter of Ada Applin).
Their older children's names were GORDON, PAMELA, BRENDA, MAUREEN, & KEITH SHIRLEY.
I do not know terribly much about my Father's family, and would love it if someone else could fill in some blanks for me!
My Grand-Mother, Doris May (nee Applin), was born to a young, teenage, single mother (Ada) in 1908, and was raised by her Mother's parents. My family has no idea about any relatives that she may have on her Mother's side, and do not even have a name at this point for her Father!
I do hope that someone out there knows something!
