I am trying to trace William born 1809 and his wife Catherine (born 1815 nee Carey) POCOCK who married in London (1842) but lived in Surrey and had three children. William 1843 George 1845 and Mary Anne 1848. They travelled via the ship Panama to Hobart Tasmania Australia 1853 and lived for awhile at Longford, Lauceston, Tasmania. William, and sons emigrated to south Island NewZealand. We have all info on them in NewZealand but are missing information on what happened to Catherine and Mary Anne when they left the ship in Tasmania. However we are also missing information on Williams parents (possibly Thomas and Anne Pocock of England) and have no information on Catherines background other than her birthplace was Tipperary, Ireland. There was some sort of argument with William and his parents and he destroyed all their letters so we have nothing to go on here.
