I was born Mark Sidebottom in May 1977 in Wakefield. My mother is Susan Sidebottom who was 20 at the time and I think that my father is Richard Robinson who was 26. They both came from Rothwell, near Leeds in Yorkshire. I was put up for adoption aged 6 weeks and was adopted on 16th October 1977 to a couple from the York area. It turns out that my birth parents were married also on the 16th Oct 1977, in what I think was in an effort to keep me. This failed and I was adopted. I have always known that I was adopted but as 25 years have passed I think its time to do something about searching for my birth parents. I dont know their where abouts or if they are still married or even alive. I could guess that they maybe tried for another child after the dissapointment of finally loosing me. I have done a small amount of research myself and I am sure that both my birth GRAND fathers still live in Rothwell, I do not wish to cause any ill feelings to them or to my birth parents or children by trying to find them, but I would give anything to make contact with my mum or dad cos I have a gap in my life.
My Birth mother also give birth to a girl called Lisa Sidebottom in October 1975 who might have also been adopted, I would also love to contact her for the same reasons.
I bear no ill feelings to my birth mother, father, their families etc for putting me up for adoption, from the events which must have happened prior to my adoption I would guess that it might have been rather 'tricky' for my mum at home.
