Marjorie Emma Mahony (Lesley Appleby)
Born: 6th September 1964 at the Queen Mother Hospital Gateshead County Durham
Address of birth mother on certificate:
18 The Broadway Avenue, South Shields, County Durham
Adopted: 15thJuly 1965 through the Salvation Army at Evesham County Court
Adoptive Parents: Francis and Miriam (moores) Mahony
Her birth mothers name:
Wendy Appleby
Born: 2nd July 1947 at South Shields
Married: to William Robb on 5th October 1968 at South Shields County Durham
William Robb’s father: William Robb senior
Witness: June Appleby (possibly her sister) and a Kenneth Rowntree
Child of this Union: Steven Andrew Robb born 1969 July to September quarter on index register
Steven was born at Sunderland.
Wendy’s sibling:
June Appleby born June quarter 1941 at Swansea Wales
Joyce Appleby born September quarter 1944 Durham
Wendy’s Parents:
George Manson Appleby and Lily Maud Appleby (Wright)
George was a Chief Officer possibly Merchant seaman or Army
George and Lily sold their home at:
18 The Broadway avenue, South Shields in 1969 early 1970’s we spoke to a neighbour who has been there about 25 years and never heard of them. And we know that they were still at that address when Wendy married. It is known that on the electoral roll for 1969 a George, Lily, June, Joyce and Wendy were residing at the address.
