John Gordon Morrison was born in Dublin on 13 July 1838. He enlisted in the 21st Foot, North British Fusiliers, on 5 Apr 1854. This regiment had a Depot in Dublin and a barracks in Cork. He served briefly in the Crimea and was invalided home arriving at the Depot in May of 1855. He subsequently deserted and arrived in the States, probably in 1855.
A married sister, Mary Morrison Fuller lived at 12 James Street West. Her husband was a brushmaker, a trade Morrison followed in Lansingburgh, New York. He corresponded with Mary during the US Civil War. Is anyone following the Fuller family? I would like to know who John's parents were and if there are any descendants of his sister.
