I hope someone can shed some light on the origin and meaning of the name Tregaron. I was fascinated to find a place in Wales named Tregaron.
My grandfather's name was Tregarron Guard (born 26 Sep 1873 and died 26 March 1935). He was born in Currituck Co., North Carolina and died there. My mother did not kown anything about his name and evidentially he did not know the origin of his name either. I had never heard the name before until stumbling across the location in Wales. Also, is Guard a common surname in Wales?
