Does anyone have a Smollet Holden, and his son, Francis Smollet Holden, (aka Dr. Francis H. Holden [Mus D])in their ancestry, or know anything about these men?
They both were prominent in the preservation of Traditional Irish Music in the late 1700's and early to mid 1800's.
Smollet Holden died in Dublin in 1813. His son Francis died about mid 1800's. Do not know where, but it possibly was in New Ross, Ireland or in Dublin, where his father died.
Please contact me should you have any clues to my elusive ancestors.
