I am researching ancsetry tracing John Boyd back to Ireland where my search seems to of hit a dead end. John was born there Nov 20, 1803 and came to America when he was 21. His father was a weaver of 'fine' cloth.
He had a girl friend that came from Ireland, they married here, settled in Springfield Illinois area where she and their only son died of fever.
John then moved to Missouri and married Margarite Marshall. They had ten children:
Joseph Benton
John Riley
Marion Mead (my great grandfather)
Wilson
Jim
Victor
Sarah
Mary
Two others that died, no names given
Part of the children were born in Missouri before the family migrated to Oak Grove, Arkansas.
My information has been passed down by Zora Boyd.
