I trying to find details of my great, great grandfather ALEXANDER ROBERTSON MILLER born 1853. He married a Mirium Ellwood in Selby Yorkshire and on the marriage certificate he says his father was James Miller and he was born in Scotland, he does not state where in Scotland though.
My Grandma believes it was Aberfeldy in Perthshire as when he moved to Goole with Mirium he called his house 'Aberfeldy House'
My problem is I cannot find his birth registered anywhere. I have tried all the possibles and variables such as searching a couple of years either side of 1853, trying Alexander Robertson in case this was his mothers maiden name and she remarried James Miller ect.
Please, please help as I do not know where to go now.
