| Searching for information on EDWIN ELLIOTT HICKS born in England about 1834. He immigrated to Canada as a young man. He said he was illigitimate, the son of a housemaid and the 'Lord of the Manor'. Gave said 'Lord' a title similar to 'EARL OF MINTO'. Any idea who, what or where that would be? Any suggestion as to what 'Minto' might really be? I believe the correct name has probably been lost over the last 150 years. All suggestions greatfully appreciated and will follow up. |
