In 1787/87 Anthony Bacon died and left his iron works at Cyfarthfa, Plymouth and Haroun to his three eldest sons by his mistress, Mary Bushby. He left Mary and two younger children, Elizabeth and William, annuities to be paid out of profits from the iron works. It is believed that the three eldest boys received their inheritance but what was the fate of Mary Bushby, Elizabeth and William Bushby/Bacon? Specifically, I am looking for proof that one or all of the three were still in England after about 1794. This would eliminate them as being connected to the Elizabeth Bushby who showed up in Virginia as a 12 year old orphan around 1792/94 with the story that she was born in England and her father had died in England and her mother had died on the voyage to America.
