I am seeking details re JOHN WALKER who arrived in S.A. Feb.1840 per"India" with daughters Helen [b c 1806], Margaret and grandaughter Mary Jamieson [bc1834] and sons James[bc1823] and Thomas. Thos. may have died in 1851.
Believe JOHN WALKER came from Glasgow but wife not discovered. Another dau. Elizabeth marr JOHN WATT/s and remained in ABERDEEN at Seaton House, . It appears
they had children, JAMES WATT, ELIZABETH WATT [OR ELIZABETH FORBES WATT] from 1837 to 1851, Old Machar, ABERDEEN.
Helen marr in Adelaide Donald CAMERON ch: Mgt marr Jabez WOOD & Helen Cameron b1849 marr WILLIAM PATTERSON Bc1842 in SA. Mary JAMIESON marr Samuel WEBSTER but many children died in infancy . Margaret marr JOHN CRAIGIE. was Mary Jamieson illegitimate? Father may have been JOHN JAMIESON.
JOHN CRAIGIE may have originated from PERTHSHIRE
He arrived in Western Australia 1831, went away and returned 1834 per "James Pattison". At 34 he married Mgt WALKER [born c 1820 Scot.] in Albany WA and they came to SA in 1847. They had children: MARY, JANE/JEAN, JOHN, JAMES and MARGARET. John & James went to Queensland and Margaret marr Charles PATTERSON.[born 1847] He came to SA with parents Charles P. and MARY GALL [Kirriemuir ANS Scot.]in 1849 with 6 siblings. Jane CRAIGIE marr John RUSSELL who arrived SA about 1857 with brothers, William and Robert.
The RUSSELLS were born at STONEHOUSE, LARNARK to ROBERT RUSSELL[born 1807] and JANET MCDONALD.
I believe Janet McDonald's father JOHN MCDONALD [from STI Scot?] marr Isabella Watson ROSS in 1841 in Adelaide.
