| I am looking for further details of my mothers side of the family. My mother was a Joan Edith Milner (nee Porter) born 1930. Her parents where a Leonard Porter and Edith Ivy Sorrell who married in 1923 in West Ham. Ediths parents where a Robert Sizer Sorrell and Edith Spashett they were also married in West Ham, 1898. Roberts parents could be a Joseph and Mary A. Sorrell who were living at Yew Tree Farm, Tendring, Essex on the 1881 census. They were aged 52 and 49 respectively. They had three children Alice aged 17, Robert S. 12 and Leonard H. aged 7 all born in Tendring. I cant trace the marriage or any other details of these, so if anybody could help i would be most grateful. |
