I have been trying for some years now to find out any information concerning my grandmother, in researching my family tree, have traced most of the ancestors for my fathers line, but can find no trace of his mother, have searched all the birth indexes in London etc with no success
can anyone help Grandmothers name was BLANCHE EILEEN MITCHELL wedding certf.states her father was John Mitchell, a Sgt Major in the Cameron Highlanders (cannot trace him either) she was married to ARTHUR JARVIS in 1913 at Chatham Kent Arthur was in the Royal Navy, they later lived in Southend, my father Royston Jarvis was b.1916
his parents were divorced in 1920 Blanche had given birth to a son in 1918 at Brightlingsea Essex, name given was GORDON GRAHAM STUART STRINGER father George Stringer
have been unable to trace what happened to this child who was half brother to my father would love to know if he is still alive?
If anyone has or knows of any connection to Blanche Mitchell/Jarvis/Stringer please help
any info however small would be welcome
Arthur Jarvis remarried 1920 to Hannah Emily Bunn Arthur died in 1921 due to a gassing accident at West Cottages Southend on Sea.
