I made contact with my half-sister MARIA HOPKINS (NEE RUTHERFORD) - married to MARK, last known to be living in Tamworth, Staffs in 1991. Now moved away so have lost contact.
Birth Mother IRENE FRANCES RUTHERFORD, also last known in Tamworth, Staffs in 1991 was very ill and in hospital for some time. On recovering, Irene wrote to the Children's Home I lived in until 1965, but they told her I had moved and was not contactable. I have only just found out that Irene tried to contact me and my fear is that she is no longer alive.
Irene would be approx 71 now (born c. 1932), Maria would be approx 41 now (born c. 1962),
I was born in Lordswood, Birmingham 06-10-59 and my birth name was Stephanie Elizabeth Rutherford
I lived in a Children's Home in Woking, Surrey from approx 1961 to 1966/67
Maria contacted many relations in IRELAND but I know not who any of them are.
My adopted parent have both died in the last two years and I have been unwell myself.
I am desperate to make contact with Irene and re-establish contact with Maria before old age and/or ill health make it impossible.
If anyone can help at all I would be so grateful. I am new to the site and am putting hopes and fears into what people may know.
