| Mrs Gladys Shepherd lived at 72 Ludlow Rd, Guildford and was my grandfather's cousin. She wrote to him in Australia from her home in Guildford and I think the letter may be dated in the 1950's. Her husband worked in the railway (no christian name mentioned), she cared for her father for more than 40 years, she only had one son (when she was 21) and he died (don't know what age) and when she wrote the letter she was 51 and her father 82. She mentioned a brother (no name given) who named his son Alan. Her father worked at a brewery. I don't know Gladys's maiden name or have any dates of birth or death. My grandfather's surname was Scarr and his mother was a Mills. Does anyone know of Gladys or her family? Any info would be most welcome. |
