Hello, I am doing genealogy research on my paternal family. My fathers mother's maiden name was Kenway. Her fathers name was Thomas Francis Kenway. He was born Dec. 25, 1844 in New York City, NY. However, I'm looking for his father and further back. His name also was Thomas Francis Kenway, he was born in 1823 in BrickPort, Devonshire, England, according to some papers that I have. He was Captain T.F. Kenway.
He was a sailor. He came to America sometime before 1843. He married Sarah Ann Terrell (the dau. of Thomas Francis Terrell and Mary Crow), at the Mariners Church in New York in 1843. He died (drowned) on the Great Lakes in 1861 while living in Lexington, Michigan at the time.
I'm looking for anything on him or his family.
