Seeking information on John McDonald he is said
to have come to New England (Rhode Island) in
about 1725-1732. Family stories state he left from Glasgow. In Rhode Island he married Freelove
Buclin (1732). Had three sons: John,Barack,Laban.
He was killed in 1744 at the Battle of Louisborg,
Cape Breton. However, his family remained in
Johnston, Rhode Island. I'm interested to learn if
anyone has come across a relative of this man?
