My husband is rying to find his birth mother Patience Mary Ireland born Dec 1930. He was bornSamuel James Ireland 27.04.53 atSt James Hospital Balham, South London. She was living at 12, Royal Cresent, Holland Park. we found out that she married a Robert Cecil Clark in 1958, we they were both working for the Portabello Hotel in Walton-on-the Nase in Essex. We cannot find any children of this marriage. We realise that they may have divorced and she remarried again, so we could be looking for the totally wrong surname.
My husband is desparate to find his mother after all these years. Being that he is mixedrace, he relaise that this subject was totally taboo in 1953, and people may just want to forget the situation but he never can.
