BRIGHTON – 27 APRIL 1943:
A young woman living in Brighton gave birth to a baby boy on 27 April 1943. We don’t know her name, but we believe that she was Irish Catholic, and worked as a domestic servant for a doctor who was considerably older than her, and that he was the baby’s father.
The baby was adopted in Sheffield, Yorkshire and is now 60. He has three children in their 20s who would dearly like to know if their grandmother is still alive, and whether they have any uncles, aunts, cousins.
Does any of this ring a bell with you? Do you know of a woman (now in her 70s or 80s) who had a baby on 27 April 1943 in Brighton and gave him up for adoption? If so, please do get in touch!
