Adoptive Name John Norman Powell
I am trying to trace the birth mother of my first husband, he was born 16th December 1947 or 8 he sadly died in 1982 aged 38 years old. He was adopted from an orphanage in Birmingham his birth name was Colin John Cox he was adopted and named John Norman Powell and went to live with his adoptive parents Joan and Norman Powell in Botley Hampshire. John's adoptive parents are both dead, John has left three children, Louise aged 32, Suzanne 31 and Philip aged 25 who would dearly love to be able to get in touch with their paternal grandmother, who now has four great grandchildren. We know that his birth mother did try to keep in touch but it was difficult for the adoptive mother to do this.
