Looking for ancestors of William John Edgar b. 1842 Moffat Scotland. He emigrated to the U.S about 1858, and Married a Belle J Dickson Of England in 1870 Illinois. Family anecdotes say he was trained as a telegraph operator as a teenage in Scotland , that his Mother ran an Inn, and that he left quickly and posssibly under an alias
