I am attempting to find a birth record for my grandfather Thomas RALPH. He gave his place of birth as Liverpool on the 1901 census and gave his father's name as Thomas (a coachbuilder) on all 3 of his marriage certificates. From these, I estimate his year of birth as 1880-1882. Problem is that there is no birth record for a Thomas RALPH in the GRO indexes for this time frame whose father is also named Thomas. I'm left with the both equally bizarre notions that he was either wrong about his age or his father's name. Any ideas??
