I am searching for any information I can get on my ancestors FERGUSON/FINCH who emigrated to New Zealand around the 1848 and settled in the Milton/Milburn (Tokomairiro) District.
John FINCH (d 22/11/1897) arrived in Port Chalmers on board the "John Wickliffe" in March 1848, with his wife Elizabeth (nee SHAW) and children John (aged 6) d 24/1/1921 m Margaret STRAIN (no offspring), Samuel (aged 4)d. 28/2/1899, Emma (aged 3) d. 26/1/1916 and Elizabeth (aged 4 mths) d. 11/4/27. They settled in the Milburn area around Milton. I would like to fill in the gaps between their arrival, and subsequent children and the birth of my grandmother Frances in late 1890's. She married David FERGUSON, born 1890's son of James FERGUSON and Mary MILLAR
