I am researching Simpsons of Aberdeen and have gone back a fair bit (1810). Other names from that line include Reid, Melvin, Robb, Soutar,Gillan and Barbar. Most common first names for my Simpsons are James, Alexander, Robert, Agnes, Isabella, Mary and more. My GGF and GGGF worked the railroad between Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh in the late 1800's.
I am stuck on James Simpson b. 1810 married 1835 to Ann Souter b. 1816 both in Aberdeen.
